The above guy is obviously a seller, so I wouldn’t pay too much attention to his promotional text. If you are buying one of these meters, be aware that a lot of ebay sellers are selling these meters claiming readable values of up to 50 amps and above, and they are being sold with no external shunts being supplied, or even mentioned as being needed in their listings. Note that these meters will NOT work in the ammeter mode without these shunts. The shunt is a mandatory requirement in all ammeter’s with an available reading of 5 to 10 amps or above. So far, the only meter that I have found that has a self contained built in shunt is the 4.5 to 30 volt, 5 amp maximum current type. eBay needs to do something about the unknowledgeable and deceitful listers that are selling meters that do not work because they are being supplied incomplete. If you have a meter that works in volts but doesn’t read in amps, measure the resistance between the black and yellow (or blue) lead, if it reads one ohm or less than one ohm, the meter as a built in shunt, if it reads in megohms, the shunt is missing making the ammeter inoperative. A good precaution is that you put fuse of less value than the max. amp meter rating in series with the ammeter wire to protect the meter from being damaged.

I HAVE 5 OF THESE ITEMS WITH 3 WIRE CONNECTIONS.I BOUGHT THE 3 WIRE VERSION SO THAT I COULD CONFIGURE THEM TO READ UP TO 100 VOLTS.
BUT WITH A SEPARATE SUPPLY FOR THE METER,THE MAXIMUM READING I CAN GET IS 33 VOLTS.
DO YOU KNOW THE REASON WHY THIS IS SO,AND CAN YOU EXPLAIN TO ME HOW TO GET A READING OF 100 VOLTS
THE INPUT TO THE CHIP [PIN 13] CONTINUES TO RISE EVEN AFTER THE VOLTAGE HAS STOPPED AT 33 VOLTS
